Preview of two new portraits

Preview of two new portraits... before they go into "Latest Work", when I'll include bigger resolution and details as usual. I've returned to working on small portraits lately. See below...

"It is enough for me if there are but few,

It is enough for me if there is but one,

It is enough for me if there is not even one."

Montaigne lived from 1533 to 1592; his writings are remarkably modern and apposite still today. He also said "If you belittle yourself, you are believed; if you praise yourself, you are disbelieved"!

I love the expression and wisdom on the January girl's face. And of course you know I LOVE your work. :-)

You live in a paradise all that amazing nature!! Must be truly glorious what with the nice early spring sunshine. Artists are like the sun they pop out to warm peoples souls once in a while. My sister Gina in America said an interesting thing about too many words in a poem being like too many dabs of colour in a painting which can draw your eye away from the main focus of the work. Keep painting I like your recent atmospheric portraits & the light dabs of colour.

Hi Rich, Great to see you returning to the Heads, etc., remember those placed in Fowey River - years ago.
Best of ever with everything you do.

Thanks Linda. Appreciate you venturing into blogdom. Yes, I remember too well the portraits ("that never sell") and the phone call the very next day saying they'd sold one. But they wouldn't take another. Strange people gallery owners: in bondage to their own prejudice, justified as what clients want. Like ugly fruit in a supermarket, if you can find it. Yes, people want it but it's not there.
